Solo Feb. 10, 2023 – Wellness tourism is a tour with the aim of maintaining or improving personal well-being that involves various aspects such as physical, mental, spiritual, and environmental.
BRIN as one of the government’s research institutions takes part in realizing wellness tourism. Head of the BRIN Health Research Organization, NLP Indi Dharmayanti said that technology, research, and science will continue to advance and develop rapidly over time. By collaborating with PT Tristem Medika Indonesia, BRIN agreed to collaborate on research and development of stem cell therapy and its derivatives. The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out at the Center for Research and Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicines (B2P2TOOT) of the Health Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Health in Tawangmangu, Karanganyar Regency, Thursday (9/2/2023).
Head of the BRIN Vaccine and Drug Research Center, Masteria Yunovilsa Putera, explained that research on stem cells has long been carried out and developed by BRIN researchers. He detailed that during the research, they have produced publications and patents.
Meanwhile, PT Tristem Medika Indonesia, which has started operating since December 2020 in accordance with a permit from the Indonesian Ministry of Health YR.02.02/III.5/4179/2020 as a laboratory for processing cell therapy, especially stem cells and developing cellular therapy, is committed to becoming a company in the field of stem cells that is at the forefront of both quality and service, especially for the city of Solo and Indonesia in general. In its journey, PT Tristem Medika Indonesia has collaborated with Gajah Mada University, Police Agencies, as well as hospitals such as Sardjito Hospital in Yogyakarta and of course hospitals in the Solo area.
The Head of the Solo City Health Office, Siti Wahyuningsih, supports this collaboration. He said that Wellness tourism will be able to attract health tourists to Solo City. “we are from the hospital service side is ready. There are 20 hospitals ready to become wellness tourism, but it also needs cooperation with the tourism sector and others,” she added.
