Protein Therapy

Mesenchymal Stem Cell Secretome

Secretome is all cell signaling molecules released by living cells into extracellular space. Secretomes consist of microvesicles (200-1000 nm), exosomes (up to 150 nm), and free soluble factors (up to 5 nm) like chemokine, Cytokine, growth factors, enzyme, mRNA, and miRNA.

Secretome is a cell-free therapy without living or dead cells. Secretome has several advantages compared to cell therapy. Secretome storage and transport are easier than cell therapy counterparts. Secretome can be stored in a freezer at -20 C for six months, whereas stem cells must be stored in cryogenic storage (-195 C). Secretome is also more affordable since its production is more cost-effective. Secretome therapy and other stem cell free-cell derivative are predicted to become more widespread as many studies show promising results for treating various medical conditions.
